Labsphere is seeking an experienced and innovative Optical Engineer to provide technical leadership for Light Metrology Systems.
Summary: This individual will be an expert in optical design, and will work to design, develop and support the sales of standard and custom light metrology systems while maintaining and improving Labsphere’s reputation in the remote sensing and light-measurement communities. This person needs to be able to manage a technical project from concept through manufacturing release.
The individial chosen for this role will work alongside our engineers and manufacturing staff to provide the best solution for our Customers.
Essential Requirements: 10+ years experience in the photonics industry working in the UV/VIS/NIR range, industry expert in designing optical systems, performing optical sensor calibrations, light measurements & optical simulations.
Strong project management history with innovative problem solving, collaborative learning, and educating teammates about potential optical solutions are key elements of success in the job
Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen, with a BS or MS in Physics or Engineering
Function : Management
This is a role for a seasoned Procurement Manager with strong negotiating experience who can manage a team, convert orders to shipments in a timely manner and meet or exceed our Customer’s expectations.
Responsible and accountable for the performance of the Procurement Organization: the planning, supply chain, and logistics groups in the North Sutton NH facility, as well as for providing strategic direction to the buyer/planner located in Shanghai China.
Expected to convert orders to shipments at a rate compliant with our standard lead time objectives, while optimizing Labsphere’s investment in materials and capacity.
Insure that suppliers of goods and services meet Labsphere performance criteria for quality, service, and price by routinely evaluating their performance, and providing feedback along with corrective action as needed.
Routinely evaluate the performance of your direct reports, reward A-Level contributors, develop weaker performers or replace with A-level players quickly thus creating a sustainable organizational structure prepared for continued growth.

Sr. Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer
Labsphere is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our New Product Development team in building the next generation of Labsphere’s world-class light measurement products. This position will develop production code in a small team, using modern tools and leading-edge technology.

Over the past 3 years we have transformed ourselves into a business where software is our primary competitive advantage. We seek individuals who will be constantly looking at bringing new ideas and technologies into the business to keep us on the cutting edge.
Job functions will include some combination of the following:
• Developing software in a 3 tier (Web UI, business logic, database) environment.
• Integration of various test and measurement hardware into the Labsphere software environment, either by writing custom drivers or using 3rd-party libraries, and using various communication protocols (USB, serial, sockets, etc).
• Defining, designing, and developing new products and new features in existing products.
• Developing firmware for embedded systems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving customer-reported issues.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a distributed, multidisciplinary product development team which combines developers, designers, and business professionals focused on building the next generation of light measurement systems. Labsphere engineers typically have multiple projects going simultaneously with aggressive deadlines, so a track record of shipping product on-schedule is important. You must be able to work in a high energy environment, be a creative thinker, and have a collaborative disposition. Labsphere is a customer-focused company, so an ability to work with customers is absolutely required. Occasional travel to both US and international customer sites may be required.
These skills are absolutely required:
• 5 years professional software development experience
• 3 years Python development
• 3 years SQL
• Significant experience developing on the MS Windows
• Modern source control tools (Hg/Git/SVN)
Some combination of the following is also required:
• HTML/jQuery/CSS (HTML5 is a big plus)
• Visual C++
• Visual C#
• Embedded firmware development in C++ for a volume production product
• Image processing
• Test and measurement automation
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or physics; advanced degree a plus.
