Product Engineer OEM/NPD
Function : Sales

Our impressive technology advances and rapid execution against our strategic agenda have resulted in the need to hire a Product Engineer, based at our North Sutton, NH headquarters. In this role, reporting to the VP Engineering, we are looking for an experienced product manager to lead and develop a diverse product line.

The qualified candidate will have demonstrated product management leadership experience in pre-sales support, including review/development f Statement-of-Work and Specifications, product design, and product development of a wide variety of OEM products and major NPD standard products.  Must have solid technical knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.  Project Management skills or desire to rapidly become proficient in Project Management techniques.  You must be a strong communicator, both written and verbal. You will participate in new product testing for quality and usability purposes and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.  This individual will transition products to manufacturing, ensuring production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.  You will be the internal voice and champion of the Customer to ensure the organization meets or exceeds all commitments to our OEM/NPD Customers.

In order to succeed in this role you will need a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline in addition to 2-5 years of professional experience of which 2 years have been in successful product development or business development roles in a related industry. In addition to your professional experience and academic success you will need to have the presence, communication skills and demeanor that instills confidence to internal and external customers.

SQA Engineer

Our aggressive technology and new product development roadmap combined with growth in new and existing markets has resulted in the need to hire a SQA and Software Engineer, based at our North Sutton, NH headquarters. In this role we are looking for an individual to work as part of a diverse and dynamic team.  Your ability to perform essential SQA activities will position you as a key member of the organization. You will also be asked to bring or quickly develop working knowledge of our core platform environments (Python, LabVIEW, HTML5) in order to contribute to our Software Engineering team.

As an SQA and Software Engineer you will ensure that our world-class technology is backed by world-class software by continually testing our software platforms.  When problems are identified you will work closely with the entire team to develop robust solutions.  You must possess a passion for learning and commitment to personal development, which will be enthusiastically supported by the organization.  You will eliminate fatal bugs, minimize “nuisance bugs”, and increase user specific functionality while developing your Software Engineering skills to contribute to our core product development.

 

The qualified candidate will possess:

 

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related engineering degree.

  • 1-5 years of professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SQA practices, unit tests, and debugging/reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand product and project requirements and determine how to test coverage in current code.
  • Capability to create and execute comprehensive test plans.
  • Creative problem solving, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to document and report findings.
  • A familiarity with modern architecture including: API, Hardware Abstraction, Webservers, and Thick and Thin-client UI.
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW is a significant plus.

Western Regional Sales Manager (USA)

We are looking to recruit a Sales professional for our Western Region Sales Management Position.

THE PREFERABLE LOCATIONS FOR CANDIDATES ARE IN California; either in Silicon Valley or greater Los Angeles.

The Regional Sales Manager position is accountable for business development and implementation of Strategies and Tactics to effectively manage and profitably grow Labsphere’s revenue in the USA West territory.  Assumes responsibility for all facets of the territory and accounts business including quota achievement, order fulfillment and overall customer satisfaction.  Will have support from Inside Sales as well as Marketing but is ultimately responsible for pricing strategies, engineering proposals, service, channel development project management, applications, etc. Primary responsibilities to contribute to the business growth (P&L) by using application knowledge in the prescription or specification of our remote sensing and light measurement products to meet the requirements of our customers.

This position is accountable for providing all aspects of customer support for Labsphere products. Providing technical support and leadership for customer applications. Consulting on proper applications of products. Assists with the development of new business by providing sales call support, presentations and demos. May negotiate critical and controversial issues with senior level engineering, sales management and executive management. Be recognized as a subject matter champion of product line design both within and outside the organization.

Position Requirements

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
- Bachelors Degree in Physics / Optics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

- Knowledge of and/or experience in LED, General Lighting, Remote Sensing or Camera and Display markets.
- Knowledge in photonics design theory and variances in product families a plus.
- 5-8 years experiences working with industrial technology based applications.

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in outside sales with demonstrated quota achievement
- Methodical and common approach to problem solving
- Flexible, achievement oriented, positive, determined and enthusiastic Team player

- Team leader experience
- Fluent in English
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite, CRM tools.
- Travel within assigned Territory, Western USA and Canada
- Ability to travel outside ≥50%of total
- Exposure to electrical equipment

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Achieve sales targets quarterly, and provide the forecast of upcoming business so to prepare the factory for timely response.
- Knowledge in Labsphere products (to be trained) and applications in Lighting Science and Remote Sensing. 
- Partners with customers to implement strategies for sales, provide quality support, train and coach customers along with team members, and provide support necessary for attainment of customer's goals and objectives. Anticipates obstacles and identifies alternative strategies and plans (i.e. Solution Selling).

- If applicable, manages Inside Sales Technical Support Engineer to achieve territory strategy
- Formulates, communicates, implements, and evaluates business objectives within territory. Performs outside sales. - Provides leadership, coaching, motivation and development of skill sets and activities necessary to ensure successful execution of objectives to commission based sales to engineering and operations teams.
- Maintains active relationships with customers. Negotiates discrepancies between customer's expectations and Labsphere.
- Coordinates sales activities in area to penetrate Industrial account growth.
- Defines solutions and responds to customer problems using appropriate application support.
- Assures that the company process from; approval drawings, to close out orders. Utilizes information to analyze discrepancies and takes appropriate action to resolve them to the customer's satisfaction.
- Provide collateral, materials, samples cases, coaching and training on products for customers

- Provide technical and application support to customers, sales engineers and reps.
- Report business pipe line.
- Attend target marketed trade shows.

Currently we are looking to hire a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in North Sutton, NH. In this role we are searching for a high-energy individual who will have responsibility for selling our products and services in addition to providing pre-sales technical support and solutions that enables us to exceed customer expectations.  

You will be tasked with providing state-of-the-art technical solutions to customers in the Aerospace, Camera and Display, Lighting and Analytical Instruments markets. The ideal candidate will possess:

A BS degree in an Engineering or Physical Sciences discipline

  • 0-2 years of product support and/or technical sales experience

Skilled Machinists

Labsphere is looking for Skilled Machinists to complete our team.

We currently have two open positions, one of which will be on the second shift.

If you are skilled in manual mill and lathe work with the ability to program conversational controllers we would be interested in having you apply.

·    You must exhibit and apply solid understanding of prototype set ups and machining, and demonstrate understanding of sequence of operations.

·        You must have proficiency in reading blueprints, sketches, drawings, and manuals.

·        Qualifications: 5+ years as a Qualified Machinist

Skilled Assembler

Labsphere is seeking a Skilled Assembler; individuals in this position will work in production of Labsphere products. This position may be focused in one area (coating, mechanical assembly or electronic assembly), but preference is for ability to work in all areas.  Employees at all levels are expected to look for ways to improve processes or quality, take ownership of their work (timeliness, quality, etc.) and give excellent service to internal and/or external customers. Skills will include using a computer to access work orders, work instructions, bills of materials, blueprints, and other required documentation to plan daily work.  The individual must be able to follow work instructions and/or sample assemblies regarding work to be performed, and be able to build simple and increasingly complex mechanical and/or electronic assemblies according to these written procedures, blueprints and/or verbal instructions. Soldering skills a plus.
