Senior Optical Systems Engineer
Function : Engineering

Currently we are looking to hire a Senior Optical Systems Engineer to join our team in North Sutton, NH. In this role we are searching for a technical expert who thrives in an environment that promotes responsibility, independence, recognition and the ability to implement technology quickly. This is a role with significant visibility to both internal and external constituents.

To succeed, you should be a practical, hands-on technical leader with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the photonics industry, working in the UV/VIS/NIR range. The majority of your time will be spent supporting our sales team, understanding and evaluating customer requirements, while the remainder of your time will be focused on working with existing products that are in various phases of development/production. You should be forward-thinking in utilizing and developing new technology while being open to new ideas and constructive discussions on project concepts.

Our environment is one that will require you to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously balancing the technical requirements with the business constraints of the projects. Although some research tasks are required, this is a position that requires the candidate to take action to accomplish tasks in short timeframes. Labsphere is currently committing significant capital to updating and enhancing our laboratory facilities. Your experience should include:

  • Design of optical metrology systems, performing optical sensor calibrations, light measurements, and optical simulations.
  • Hands-on experience in the understanding of optics, spectroscopy, light metrology, uncertainty, and be able to communicate technical details and concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • A demonstrated ability to be proactive in proposing and implementing practical solutions to technical challenges.

Technical Support Engineer
Function : Sales

In this role we are searching for a high-energy individual who will have responsibility for selling our products and services in addition to providing pre-sales technical support and solutions that enables us to exceed customer expectations.  You will be tasked with providing state-of-the-art technical solutions to customers in the Aerospace, Camera and Display, Lighting and Analytical Instruments markets.  The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A BS degree in an Engineering or Physical Sciences discipline
  • 0-2 years of product support and/or technical sales experience
  • A willingness to learn our industry, products and services
  • A problem solving persona and a customer service orientation

A successful Technical Support Engineer demonstrates creative thinking skills constantly and is able to manage multiple priorities while anticipating customer needs and/or interests.  You will be challenged to develop technical expertise with all of our products, applications and markets and strive for 100% customer satisfaction in every interaction you have with a customer.  Working closely with our Regional Sales Manager’s you will be incentivized to ensure that regional sales goals are met or exceeded and that all product campaigns and initiatives have appropriate visibility to Labsphere customers.

Electrical Engineer

Our aggressive technology and new product development roadmap combined with growth in new and existing markets has resulted in the need to hire an Electrical Engineer based at our North Sutton, NH headquarters.  In this role we are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who possesses a creative/innovative persona and is interested in working as part of a small, closely-knit team where they will be exposed to work at every level.

The qualified candidate will possess:

  • Strong background in Electronics/Electrical devices and circuits
  • Ability to develop test procedures, run tests, isolate and solve problems

In addition, we would like to see skills such as:

  • Research/development/design in remote sensing and calibration of sensors
  • Knowledge of Embedded systems control
  • Working knowledge of digital signal processing and digital systems

Product Engineer OEM/NPD
Function : Sales

Our impressive technology advances and rapid execution against our strategic agenda have resulted in the need to hire a Product Engineer, based at our North Sutton, NH headquarters. In this role, reporting to the VP Engineering, we are looking for an experienced product manager to lead and develop a diverse product line.

The qualified candidate will have demonstrated product management leadership experience in pre-sales support, including review/development f Statement-of-Work and Specifications, product design, and product development of a wide variety of OEM products and major NPD standard products.  Must have solid technical knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.  Project Management skills or desire to rapidly become proficient in Project Management techniques.  You must be a strong communicator, both written and verbal. You will participate in new product testing for quality and usability purposes and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.  This individual will transition products to manufacturing, ensuring production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.  You will be the internal voice and champion of the Customer to ensure the organization meets or exceeds all commitments to our OEM/NPD Customers.

In order to succeed in this role you will need a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline in addition to 2-5 years of professional experience of which 2 years have been in successful product development or business development roles in a related industry. In addition to your professional experience and academic success you will need to have the presence, communication skills and demeanor that instills confidence to internal and external customers.

Skilled Machinists
Function : Production

Labsphere is looking for Skilled Machinists to complete our team.

We currently have two open positions, one of which will be on the second shift.
If you are skilled in manual mill and lathe work with the ability to program conversational controllers we would be interested in having you apply.

·    You must exhibit and apply solid understanding of prototype set ups and machining, and demonstrate understanding of sequence of operations.

·        You must have proficiency in reading blueprints, sketches, drawings, and manuals.

·        Qualifications: 5+ years as a Qualified Machinist

Skilled Assembler
Function : Production

Labsphere is seeking a Skilled Assembler; individuals in this position will work in production of Labsphere products. This position may be focused in one area (coating, mechanical assembly or electronic assembly), but preference is for ability to work in all areas.  Employees at all levels are expected to look for ways to improve processes or quality, take ownership of their work (timeliness, quality, etc.) and give excellent service to internal and/or external customers. Skills will include using a computer to access work orders, work instructions, bills of materials, blueprints, and other required documentation to plan daily work.  The individual must be able to follow work instructions and/or sample assemblies regarding work to be performed, and be able to build simple and increasingly complex mechanical and/or electronic assemblies according to these written procedures, blueprints and/or verbal instructions. Soldering skills a plus.
