Veiling Glare

Veiling Glare

Unwanted radiation that can reduce image contrast of an optical or electro-optical imaging system is called veiling glare.

Veiling glare can be caused by a number of factors in lens systems and camera bodies ranging from internal multiple reflections between lens surfaces, to lens imperfections and impurities on the reflection part of the image. These factors contribute to forming radiation from the photosensitive material in combination with further reflections and scatter from the lens system and camera body.

Labsphere's veiling glare uniform source systems are specifically designed to allow the user to illuminate their imaging system under the conditions required to perform the veiling glare measurement.

Labsphere's experts have the knowledge and experience to design a custom veiling glare uniform source system specifically for your application. Contact us today to speak to your Labsphere representative about your specific Veiling Glare application.
