The RSA-FO-150 Fiber Optic Reflectance Sphere Accessory is an inexpensive alternative to reflectance spectroscopy using a conventional UV/VIS spectrophotometer. The RSA-FO-150 is an integrating sphere-based accessory, used with a separate illuminator, spectrophotometer, or spectrometer instrument and two fiber optic cables. The basic component of the RSA-FO-150 is a 1.5 inch diameter integrating sphere constructed of Labsphere's highly reflective Spectralon® material. The RSA-FO-150 accessory is portable, simple to operate and compatible with most stand-alone spectrometer instruments.
The RSA-FO-150 is used for total and diffuse reflectance measurements. Two ports with SMA adapters are located strategically at 90° (diffuse port) and 8° (directional port) from the center of sample port. The design of the RSA-FO-150 assembly accommodates two different application setups, both capable of collecting data in the hemispherical and diffuse reflectance geometries.
The RSA-FO-150 offers a compact size and sturdy design. Four ports are featured on the sphere: directional, diffuse, sample, specular exclusion. The specular exclusion port contains a control knob, which gives the user the option of either including the specular component of reflection or excluding it through a light trap or a Spectralon® plug.
The compact RSA-FO150 is designed for use with a multitude of fiber-based spectrometers and can easily measure hemispherical reflectance for both specular and diffuse samples. With a total port fractional area of 1% and fabricated from Labsphere's premier reflectance material, Spectralon®, the RSA-FO-150 ensures superior optical spatial integration in an easy-to-use design.
